The Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering (CSFE) announces the release of the updated Seabee Combat Handbook, Volumes 1 and 2 (NAVEDTRA 14234B and 14235B). Both volumes are available on-line at

These self-study Non Resident Training Courses (NRTCs) are available to newly reporting support personnel so they can start studying as soon as they receive orders to their qualifying units: CEC officers in the CEC Officers School (CECOS) Basic class; Seabees who are still in A School; and active duty and reserve (retirement points) Seabees.
The courses are designed to assist personnel improve their military and tactical knowledge in preparation for the Navy-wide advancement rating exam and for those seeking warfare qualification in the Seabee Combat Warfare (SCW) Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS) program. Courses are easily accessed and available for printing and PDF download. All chapters have a trainee feedback form that can be submitted to CSFE via mail, FAX or email. An additional feature of the courses is references to useful information found in other publications. Each volume has an end-of-chapter assignment which is submitted online, and a downloadable completion letter is available after completing all course assignments.
The NRTCs provide an online training tool, available anywhere, anytime. In two volumes and 19 chapters, the course content covers the history of the Seabees, Land Navigation, Marksmanship, First Aid, Tactical Convoy Operations and much more.
