CE1(SCW) Jason Beaver (right) is awarded the Air Education and Training Master Instructor Certification by 366 TRS Commander Lt Col Jeffrey White on board Sheppard Air Force Base, Sept. 6. Construction Electrician 1st Class(SCW) Jason Beaver, Construction Electrician A School instructor at the Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering (CSFE) Detachment, Sheppard Air Force Base (CSFE Det. SAFB), Wichita Falls, Texas, earned the Air Force Education and Training Master Instructor Certification, Sept. 6. He is only the second Navy member to earn this certification in the last 10 years. Beaver started the long and rigorous qualification process in March 2011, when he began instructing under Interservice Training Review Organization (ITRO) purview and enrolled in off-duty education. During the required two years as a qualified instructor, he performed more than 1,000 hours of instruction as primary instructor, earned his associates degree including six college credits of instruction-related courses above the requirements, completed 130 hours of practical projects and was evaluated by the Squadron and Wing staff with a rating of excellent or better. This is a great way to end my tour as an A School instructor, said Beaver. I feel that the work I put in was validated. I was proud to represent the Seabees and the Navy, showing that we go above and beyond regardless of tasks or environment. His sentiments were echoed by the Assistant Officer in Charge, Senior Chief Petty Officer Joseph Johnson. CE1 Beaver is constantly impressive and a very dedicated professional instructor and Seabee. He always assists others to improve their knowledge and understanding of course materials and is ready to assist our sister services in improving processes and materials. He is a genuine Seabee with a true Can Do mentality. Once he learned about this award, he set his mind to it and went for it. He is an outstanding mentor and great leader that sets the standard for others to emulate and to show them that anything is possible, Johnson said. When asked how he felt now that he has completed the process, Beaver said, Im glad I had the unique opportunity to receive the Air Forces highest instructor rating, and I am proud to be able to teach the militarys future electricians. I am very grateful to my chain of command for both the Navy and Air Force, and my Instructor Supervisor Mr. Carlton Helmick for supporting me, for without their help this would never have been possible, he added. Johnson added, From all the students and staff here at CSFE DET Sheppard, we congratulate CE1(SCW) Beaver on his outstanding accomplishment, and we are proud to have him here as part of our team!
