Demolition begins on the old headquarters building for the First Naval Construction Division (1NCD) at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek/Fort Story, Virginia Beach, Va. Building 3006 was originally constructed as a temporary barracks in 1943, and had been used as a Seabee headquarters building since 1974 when Construction Battalions Atlantic (CBLANT) moved in. It was home to the Second Naval Construction Brigade before it became 1NCD.
