NAVFAC, Seabees Win CHINFO Awards

The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), as well as individual Seabees and battalions, recently won several awards as part of the U.S. Navy s 2011 Chief of Information (CHINFO) Merit Awards Competition. NAVFAC s Seabee Magazine won second place in the Magazine Format Publication category.

Our own Seabee contributor and Challenge Coin recipient MC2 (SCW) Ace M. Rheaume, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, was named Navy Print Journalist of the Year. For this highly coveted honor, MC2 Rheaume receives a certificate of merit, trophy and letter of com mendation from Chief of Information Rear Adm. Denny Moynihan.

Outstanding contributions by battalions were also recognized. NMCB 40 received a first place award in Cruisebooks (Small) for Af ghanistan Deployment 2010-2011," and NMCB 11 won second place in the Outstanding Blog category.
