SECNAV "Pins" Two Seabees at Camp Leatherneck

Yeoman 2nd Class Deron M. Bennett, from Lakewood, N.J., assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11, is awarded his Seabee combat warfare specialist qualification by Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus during the SECNAV's official visit to Camp Leatherneck. Homeported in Gulfport, Miss., NMCB-11 is deployed to Afghanistan to conduct general, mobility, survivability engineering operations, defensive operations, Afghan National Army partnering and detachment of units in combined/joint operations area - Afghanistan in order to enable the neutralization of the insurgency and support improved governance and stability operations.

Engineering Aide Constructionman Shenelle C. Stewart, from Kingston, Jamaica, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11, is awarded her Seabee combat warfare specialist qualification by Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus during the SECNAV's official visit to Camp Leatherneck. Homeported in Gulfport, Miss., NMCB-11 is deployed to Afghanistan to conduct general, mobility, survivability engineering operations, defensive operations, Afghan National Army partnering and detachment of units in combined/joint operations area - Afghanistan in order to enable the neutralization of the insurgency and support improved governance and stability operations.

Two Seabees attached to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 11 received their Seabee Combat Warfare specialist qualification from Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus during an official visit to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan. Engineering Aide Constructionman Shenelle C. Stewart and Yeoman 2nd Class Deron M. Bennett both earned the qualification and were pinned by the highest ranking civilian official in the U.S. Department of the Navy.

NMCB 11 is deployed to Afghanistan to conduct general, mobility, survivability engineering operations, defensive operations, Afghan National Army partnering and detachment of units in combined/joint operations area - Afghanistan in order to enable the neutralization of the insurgency and support improved governance and stability operations.
