The Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering (CSFE), Port Hueneme, CA, announces the activation of 13 self-paced courses on Navy e-Learning that directly support the Personnel Qualification Requirements (PQS) for Seabees and Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) officers to earn their Seabee Combat Warfare (SCW) Common Core designations.

Command Master Chief John Mulholland, First Naval Construction Division (1NCD) makes this endorsement. What a great way to complement your training and subordinate development for warfare, he said. Anytime, anyplace, you can access any course in any order.

If, for example, fire team leaders want to work with their fire teams, they can just hit it! CMDCM Mulholland said. This product offers multiple ways to work toward your warfare pin, or simply improve your team s knowledge and understanding of core principles.

These courses are an online training tool, that is available anywhere, anytime. They include hyperlinks to up-to-date references, glossary and acronym list. The course content covers all learning objectives in the SCW Common Core PQS, current Table of Allowance (TOA) equipment, and displays graphic images of commonly used forms and documents. The courses are available for enrollment by visiting Navy e-Learning > Browse Categories > Department of the Navy (DON) Training > Navy Construction Force Training > Seabee Combat Warfare > Seabee Combat Warfare Common Core. All 13 courses are listed on two pages.

UTC (SCW) Eric Bailey, project lead, CSFE, said, These SCW courses are designed to complement existing training delivery methods. They are simply another tool in our tool bags that better prepare us for warfare qualification and, ultimately, increase combat readiness.

These courses are available to newly reporting support personnel so they can start studying as soon as they receive orders to their qualifying units. They can also be started by CEC officers in the CEC Officers School (CECOS) Basic Class and Seabees who are still in A School. Each course takes an average of one to four hours to complete; upon successful completion of the assessment, the program generates a completion certificate.

Mulholland concludes, We are a force capable of adaptive force packages and distributed operations. So anywhere, in any status, I can refine my warfare qualification.
