Civic Action Team: Building Relationships

Jan. 4, 2018 | By ggranger
Video by MC1 Benjamin A. Lewis, Commander, Task Force 75 Public Affairs A Civic Action Team (CAT) is usually small in manning, but their task is worldly and demanding. This detail is a highly mobile, air transportable construction unit that can be tailored to accomplish a variety of construction tasks. Teams carry enough food, tool kits, and automotive and construction equipment to be self-sufficient in the field while performing their construction tasks. https://youtu.be/TvixTZ0Zkl4 Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 133s CAT is forward deployed to Palau, a Micronesian nation consisting of 16 states that are made up of over 400 islands. NMCB 133 is providing expeditionary construction, engineering and humanitarian assistance through Construction Civic Action Details (CCAD) and theater disaster response capabilities. The United States and Palau are connected by the Compact of Free Association, an agreement which leads the nations to cooperate on a broad range of issues, including strengthening regional security, promoting sustainable development and improving infrastructure. Seabee CAT's have deployed to Palau for 48 years and currently deploy in a tri-service rotation with the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. [caption id="attachment_15615" align="alignnone" width="618"]
