NAVFAC Marianas Self-Help Seabees, U.S. Naval Base Guam Commanding Officer Capt. Andy Anderson (center), Guam Sen. James Espaldon (left), Merizo Mayor Ernest T. Chargualaf (right), Merizo Martyrs School students and community members pose for a photo during a legislative resolution presentation and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the George Leonard Charfauros Baseball Field in the village of Merizo, Guam, May 11. Anderson, Espaldon and Chargualaf thanked the Seabees who volunteered their time to refurbish the baseball field which was in disrepair for years. The Seabees cleared the field and installed a new fence which saved an estimated $50,000 in labor costs.
Also pictured is a life-size photo of Chief Builder Joe King (back row, second to left), who coordinated the project with the mayor's office. He was off island that day, so the mayor's office blew up a photo of him to be included in the ceremonies and photos.
