Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 2's Construction Dive Detachment Charlie (CDDC) is leading the Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in five weeks of basic and advanced SCUBA training as part of the Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) program. Topics include underwater searching, supervisory skills, preventive maintenance and safety procedures. Based in Port Hueneme, Calif., UCT 2 is in the Solomon Islands on the fifth of six stops spanning five countries during its deployment across Pacific Fleet. During this time, UCT divers will conduct inspection, maintenance and repair of various underwater and waterfront facilities, as well as participate in four PACFLT exercises.
