190805-N-TN346-1009 GRESIK DISTRICT, Indonesia (Aug. 5, 2019) U.S. Navy Lt. j.g. Ivan Rodriguez, a native of Sacramento who is assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4, gives a tour of a newly-constructed two-room classroom during a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of a construction project at the SDN Duduk Sampeyan Elementary School during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Indonesia 2019. During the project, U.S. Navy Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 4 and Indonesian Marines assigned to the 2nd Engineering Battalion built a two-room classroom wired to support 20 computers. This year marks the 25th iteration of CARAT, a multinational exercise designed to enhance U.S. and partner navies' abilities to operate together in response to traditional and non-traditional maritime security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
