Meek is awarded the Meritorious Service Medal from Capt. Christopher M. Kurgan, commander, Naval Construction Group 1 following a change of command ceremony at the parade field in Naval Base Ventura County. Cmdr. Laurie Scott, relieved Cmdr. Gordon Meek during the ceremony. NMCB 3 provides commanders and Navy component commanders with combat ready warfighters capable of general engineering, construction and limited combat engineering across the full range of military operations.
