
NMCB 1 Opens Health Clinic in Micronesia

KOSRAE,Federated States of Micronesia- A ribbon cutting ceremony was held in Walung Village on the island of Kosrae, Federated States of Micronesia, to dedicate and turnover the Walung Health Clinic to the Federated States of Micronesia, July 25.
The ceremony signified Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1s completion of the 792 square foot structure that started in February, and was attend by key community leaders and more than 100 villagers.
Walung Clinic is an important memento to the relationship between the United States and Federated States of Micronesia, said the Honorary Robert Riley, U.S. ambassador to the Federated States of Micronesia.
During the ceremony, the Walung choir sang a dedication song, and the clinic was formally opened to the public. The clinic will serve as a local health care facility and provider of clean drinking water for the 600 local villagers.
