Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NCMB) 3 welcomed a new commanding officer during a change-of-command ceremony, Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme, Calif., June 19.
Cmdr. Laurie Scott, previously assigned as the operations officer for Naval Construction Group 1 and the 30th Naval Construction Regiment, relieved Cmdr. Gordon E. Meek, who will transfer to the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

Meek is awarded the Meritorious Service Medal from Capt. Christopher M. Kurgan, commander, Naval Construction Group 1 following a change of command ceremony at the parade field in Naval Base Ventura County. Cmdr. Laurie Scott, relieved Cmdr. Gordon Meek during the ceremony.
