
NMCB 23 Seabees Refurbish School, Clinic in Haiti

CARACOL, Haiti (Feb. 17, 2012) Steelworker 2nd Class Barron Montowski, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NCMB) 23, embarked aboard High Speed Vessel (HSV 2) Swift, welds a hinge on a water tank cover at the Dispensaire De Caracol. NMCB-23 and the Indonesian engineers are conducting a subject matter expert exchange to refurbish the dispensary and a school in the area. NMCB-23 is supporting HSV-Southern Partnership Station 2012, a deployment of U.S naval assets in the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. NMCB-23 and the Indonesian engineers are replacing a roof at the school as part of a subject matter expert exchange.
