(Oct. 29, 2021) Ensign Austin Roche, left, receives a graduation certificate from Commander of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command and 45th Chief of Civil Engineers, Rear Adm. John W. Korka. Roche was one of 33 U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) students who completed the 15-week-long CEC Basic Qualification Course at the Naval Civil Engineer Corps Officers School. New CEC officers complete the course before reporting to initial assignments as public works officers and construction managers at Navy and Marine Corps installations or as platoon commanders and staff officers in the Naval Construction Force.
