NMCB 5 Change of Command

OKINAWA, Japan (May 29, 2015) Cmdr. Matthew Riethmiller, left, and Cmdr. Cameron Geertsema “troop the line” during Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s change of command ceremony at Camp Shield on Okinawa, Japan. During the ceremony Cmdr. Matthew Riethmiller relieved Cmdr. Cameron Geertsema as commanding officer of the battalion. Trooping the line allows the incoming commanding officer the ability to inspect the troops alongside the current commanding officer during the ceremony. NMCB 5 is currently deployed to Japan and several countries in the U.S. Pacific Command area of operations conducting construction operations and humanitarian assistance projects.
