Commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command and Chief of Civil Engineers Rear Admiral Bret Muilenburg, Seabee Force Master Chief FORCM Percy Trent Jr. and members of the Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association placed wreaths at the Seabe Memorial in Arlington, Virginia Nov. 11. The wreath laying ceremony was held in honor to all Seabee veterans, past and present.

Seabees from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3, local veterans from Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and American Legion participated in a Veterans Day event hosted by San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara, Calif., Nov. 9. The event was in honor of past, present, and future veterans of the U.S. Military. At the end of the event, San Marcos students took the time to thank the Seabees for their service, take photos with the Seabees, and see the Humvee or High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) that were in display. The city of Biloxi hosted the 17th Annual Gulf Coast Veterans Parade, Nov. 11. The celebration honored the 75 Anniversary of the U.S. Navy Seabees. CMDCM (Ret.) Dick Wade was the Grand Marshal. Wade served a total of 45 years, 11 months and 3 days in the Armed Forces of the United States. Naval Construction Group 2 provided Civil Engineer Support Equipment. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1, NMCB 11 and NCTC provided marching units and personnel from NMCB 14 and NMCB 27 escorted WWII veterans from the reception at the IP Casino to their parade vehicles.

CJTF-HOA Joins Ceremony to Honor Those Who Gave All
Service members from Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa joined other representatives of the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, and the European Union as they honored service members who gave their lives during wartime at a Remembrance Day ceremony held at the Djibouti New European Cemetery near Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Nov. 7, 2017.
